Admission to postgraduate course (Maser's and Doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/Assistant-ships in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science, is open to those who qualify in GATE. The GATE score is also used by some PSUs for their recruitment.

Validity of GATE 2016 score will be for a period of 3(Three) years ONLY from the date of announcement of results. 

How to Apply: Candidates have to apply only ONLINE.

Application Fees: Rs. 750(SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates) and Rs. 1500 for all others. The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan.

Important Dates for Submission of Application and Supporting Documents:

Starting date: Tuesday, 1st sept 2015

Ending Date: Thursday, 1st oct. 2015 

Date of Examination: Between 30th January 2016 and 7th February 2016( on Saturdays and Sundays). The exact schedule will be given on the GATE 2016 website http://gate.iisc.ernet.in
